About The Green Shed
The Green Shed is a beautiful quiet space in Muswell Hill. London, N10.
It’s not really a shed at all. It’s a high specification garden room that I had built in about 2003 for my studio. We’ve always just called it the shed. It sits alongside apple trees and a giant fig tree in my garden on Tetherdown, Muswell Hill.
The scrapbook workshops are great fun and I also do children’s craft parties which are lovely. They make mini bunting and lavender bags to take home, making good use of my large collection of gorgeous fabrics I have gathered over the last 25 years as a textile artist.
It is also available to hire for workshops, meetings, classes, courses or whatever the shed inspires you to bring together.14 adults can sit around the and more chairs can be fitted in if needed. There’s also a comfy sofa with cushions.
Outside there’s a lovely big covered seating area with cushioned benches, chairs and a large sofa.
The Shed is cool in Summer as it’s very well insulated and there are electric heaters for the Winter months. It’s dry and fresh and it feels a bit like a cosy beach hut inside. There’s WIFI, nice lighting and beautiful rugs. There are numerous cafes nearby where good takeaway coffee can be bought, including Chriskitch cafe 4 doors away.
About me, Nicky Grace.
I’ve been a textile artist since about 1994 when I discovered the pure joys of vintage fabric.
Over the years I’ve made cards, cushions, bunting, pictures, patchwork quilts and lavender bags and have sold them to shops around the country. I’ve sold lots of cushions and lavender hearts to Cath Kidston and I had a shop on Crouch Hill, Crouch End, North London called The Middle Room where I painted old furniture and made quilts and patchwork lavender bags and sold the work of other artists too. The shop was featured as “Shop of The Month” in Period Living Magazine.
I sometimes have Pop up Shops in my home in Muswell Hill, Stylist Selina Lake did a book signing for her beautiful book “Homespun Style” at one of them. My home and work are featured in Selena’s book “Pretty Pastel Style”.
Hire The Green Shed
The Green Shed is available to hire all year round.
The Shed is available to hire during the day time or in the evenings and at weekends for meetings, presentations, creative workshops, tutoring, discussion groups, teachers planning etc… if you have an idea for how the shed could be useful to you I’m open to hearing it.
You can seat about 8 adults socially distanced around the table and more chairs are available if needed. There’s also a settee with cushions. I’ve removed the tea, coffee and kettle because of COVID 19 but there are numerous cafes nearby where good takeaway coffee can be bought, including Chriskitch cafe 4 doors away.
Hire fees.
I price each hire depending on what’s required from me and the shed for the workshop or event. To hire the shed and garden for your own small party costs £225 for 3 hours.
I give children’s craft parties in The Green Shed using my large collection of wonderful fabric.
